she sat on a tree stump and counted every ring to see if she had lived longer and what kind of life it lived
she keeps leaves in a lunchbox as a reminder that new life will come around again even when we break and fall

so kick the hourglass and turn it upside down
because second chances can't always be found
life was leaving but it's turning back around to start again

she loosened her kerchief and threw it into the wind
the sun peeked through the clouds and surrounded her peach fuzz head
